Project 365 – or 366

I have, once again, decided to do Project 365. I have started this before, using my DSLR, and yes, I did not complete it. I’ve also done this with a combination of anything. But this time, i’m doing it using iphoneography.

Project 365 is – for those that do not already know – an idea among photographers to take one photo per day for an entire year.

There are websites, flickr groups (and more – and even more) right down to very specific places such as 365 days of Minnesota.

January 7th photo

The one I have decided to do is with a group of other fellow Twitter and Instagram users, and use the application Instagram. It’s quite a nifty way of doing it, and means that the photo can easily be taken from my iPhone, and uploaded using the Instagram app, or filtered about and then uploaded straight away. I’m hosting all the pictures on a separate blog called andrew365.wordpress.com to keep this blog clean of it, and make it easier to follow just that.

The group of us, including @Nicktheguitar, @andrew__C, @debjam and @kat_d_watson – plus many more – are taking photos everyday starting January 1st, 2012, and we’re uploading them on Instagram and collating by using the hashtag #3652012.

January 2nd photo

The blog where it’s all coming together at is here – the 3652012blog.wordpress.com. @nicktheguitar collates and runs the blog, and posts every few days a collection of good photos, interesting ones, or anything that deserves the publics attention.

It is only the 7th of January today, so still quite a long time to go for it to all break down, but i’m determined it won’t happen this year.

But – why 365 when it’s a leap year?

Ahh – good question! I’m glad you asked that…

Yeah, we don’t really know. I think it’s just because it’s the standard name for it, and we just keep it the same. We’ll look at it when it needs looking at. For now, just enjoy the photos and join in yourself. You don’t need to start on January 1st like we did – you can start anywhere and keep going for a year.
